Photographic Styles

There are loads of different styles of photograph you could choose from ranging between full colour, cross processed, black and white and toned mono amongst others.

This isn't an exhaustive list, but should give you an idea of what our most popular requests are, and should help you understand what we are talking about. Click on the images for an enlarged view.

Full Colour

Basically what it says on the tin! This is a standard, full colour image, with no specific developing techniques used.

Cross Processed Colour

Traditionally practiced with film stock but usually applied digitally today, this technique involved processing film in the 'wrong' chemicals, giving colour shifts and increased contrast.

Toned Mono

Traditionally this is an image that would have been shot on black and white film and then toned during the print production process to gently add a tint of colour.

Classic Black and White

A good black and white image should have black blacks and white whites. Sounds simple, but it's where so many go wrong and end up looking washed out.

Natural Light

Either colour or mono, but using natural window light. This gives a beautifully soft and gentle look which can never really be replicated by studio lights.
